We Are One!!!

We Are One!

The Literary Project has now been running for an entire year! We have brought you interviews with writers and publishing professionals, articles to help you with your writing and information about new opportunities for aspiring writers. It's been a blast, and the year has gone incredibly fast. At the time of writing, the Project has over 126 followers on blogger and is scoring around 526 visits a month - not bad, considering I started with five readers!
Now the Project was initially meant to run for just a year, but since feedback has been so overwhelmingly positive we're thinking of keeping the project running for another twelve months - which is where you lovely peeps come in.
For one week only, I'd like readers to delurk and leave me a comment below saying hello, and who you would like to see interviewed here at the Project. This year the bias has been towards novelists, so would you like to see more poets, journalists and short story writers? More agents and editors? What about jacket designers, marketing executives, book doctors and booksellers?
Thank you for all of your support over the last year, and I hope that you found some useful advice and information to help you in your writing career.
Over to you!

11 comments - thank you!:

Great Job Gemma, after watching Inkheart i so would like to learn more about book doctors and the cover artists.
I would also like to understand how book sellers allocate their coveted shelf space and what the unknown writers can do to get on that shelf.

Hi Gemma, I love the novel related stuff but I'd also be interested in the around the publishing industry sidelines. Jacket designers? Yes please.

Happy Birthday Literary Project! I'd like to see some practical how-to's : for example, an interview with a publicist about setting up a book tour or something like that.

Hi, Captain Black here. This is a great blog and I read it regularly, even if I don't comment. Any chance of some more "bloke" oriented stuff, such as crime/thriller/SF? Thanks.

Hi Jen, fab suggestion I shall see what I can do.

Hi Captain Black, thank you for delurking! I shall indeed do some more "blokey" interviews - I already have James Swallow lined up for the new year and shall endeavour to pick up a few more male crime & thriller writers. In fact, I have a fairly awesome fellow in mind...

Please keep the suggestions coming, folks!

Love the blog and glad you're going to continue. I love author and agent type interviews, but would also be interested in the jacket design, marketing, bookseller side of things too.

Keep up the good work!

Thanks Karen, thanks Womag, glad you enjoy the blog! I am already hunting down the relevant people to bring a bit more diversity to the interviews here. I've got a few health problems at the mo - nothing serious - but the Project is going to take a short break while i get myself fixed up, and then in the new year we'll be back :-)
